John Melluish is a Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years experience at one of Australia’s leading specialist corporate recovery firms. John has worked with local trading banks, international banks, private equity and others in the management of underperforming businesses across a wide range of industries including retail, manufacturing and property. Specialist areas: Business and financial strategy formulation and implementation for small and large businesses across a variety of sectors. John has experience in corporate advisory, due diligence, independent business reviews, business turnaround, business sales and formal insolvencies. Experienced in leading large teams though periods of change his co-operative approach ensures that all stakeholders become engaged in the turnaround process, and he has an ability to apply his analytical skills to identify financial and operational issues and make fast, well considered decisions. John has proven experience in business transformation and in achieving maximum realisations in the sale of hundreds of businesses and properties and managing competing owner and stakeholder expectations. John holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, Graduate Diploma of Advanced Insolvency Law from University of Southern Queensland, Graduate Diploma of Property Investment & Development, University of Western Sydney, Managing Professional Services Firms Harvard Graduate School of Management. He is also a Member of the Turnaround Management Association, Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association and Insol International. Additionally, John spent 10 years on the Board of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA) including 2 years as National President and 3 years as Treasurer of Insol International. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. John is currently a Director and Treasurer of the Day of Difference Foundation.
